MIHAS 2025: Pioneering a Sustainable and Intelligent Global Halal Economy
The 21st Malaysia International Halal Showcase will be held at MITEC from September 17th to 20th, is poised to be its most ambitious yet. With a hybrid format combining physical and virtual elements, the event aims to achieve RM4.5 billion in global halal sales and attract over 45,000 trade visitors from more than 45 countries. MIHAS is far more than a traditional trade fair. It encompasses a wide spectrum of halal industries, including food and beverages, pharmaceuticals, modest fashion, cosmetics, Islamic finance, green technology, and Muslim-friendly tourism. This diversity reflects the dynamic and expanding nature of the global halal market, which is projected to reach USD5.0 trillion by 2030.
Innovation at the Core
A key highlight of MIHAS 2025 is its groundbreaking use of artificial intelligence. The MADANI Digital Trade (MDT) platform, integrated into the International Sourcing Programme (INSP), will leverage AI algorithms to facilitate intelligent business matching between exporters and international buyers. This digital innovation ensures efficient, data-driven connections regardless of geographical barriers, empowering SMEs to access global markets seamlessly.
Emphasis on Sustainability and Recognition
The return of the MIHAS Awards in 2025 underscores the event’s commitment to honoring innovation and sustainability. Categories such as the Products and Services Excellence Award and the Innovation & Sustainability Award celebrate businesses that excel in export performance, digital transformation, and ESG integration. A new Emerging Star Award will spotlight rising players making a positive impact in the halal sector.
Strengthening Global Networks
With dedicated pavilions from ASEAN, GCC countries, and beyond, MIHAS reinforces Malaysia’s role as a halal hub and a connector of cultures and economies. The physical INSP session will debut at MITEC, offering a centralized venue for premium buyer-seller meetings. Virtual participants can engage through live chats, scheduled meetings, and knowledge sessions, ensuring inclusive participation across time zones.
Leadership and Vision
Supported by the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) and organised by MATRADE, MIHAS 2025 aligns with Malaysia’s national strategies such as the New Industrial Master Plan 2030 and the National Trade Blueprint. As Malaysia assumes the ASEAN Chairmanship in 2025, MIHAS will also serve as a regional catalyst for trade collaboration and partnership building.
