* Project Name: Annual Production of 60,000 Tons of Phosphorus-Containing Amino Acid Derivatives
* Developer: Shandong NHU Amino Acid Co., Ltd.
* Location: Within the existing plant premises of Shandong NHU Amino Acid Co., Ltd.
* Project Type: New construction
* Total Investment: RMB 150 million, including RMB 5 million earmarked for environmental protection (3.33% of total investment)
* Land Area: 14,020 m²
* Industry Classification: C2631 – Manufacture of Chemical Pesticides
* Construction Timeline: 3 years
* Scheduled to break ground in October 2026
* Phase I completion by December 2027
* Phase II completion by October 2029
Project Details:
The project will cover 14,020 m², with new production units, warehouses, and supporting facilities to be built. Equipment purchases will include fermentation tanks, reactors, membrane systems, evaporators, crystallizers, condensers, heat exchangers, and dryers. Using glufosinate (self-produced or purchased externally) as raw material and leveraging biological fermentation technology, the company will construct a dedicated production line for refined glufosinate. Upon completion, the facility will have an annual capacity of 60,000 tons (on a 100% active ingredient basis).
Production Plan:
* Phase I:
* 25,000 tons refined glufosinate ammonium technical
* 20,000 tons 10% soluble glufosinate ammonium solution
* 15,000 tons 20% soluble glufosinate ammonium solution
* Phase II:
* 20,000 tons refined glufosinate ammonium technical
* 20,000 tons 10% soluble glufosinate ammonium solution
* 15,000 tons 20% soluble glufosinate ammonium solution
Strategic Significance:
According to a previous Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the “Annual Production of 60,000 Tons of Phosphorus-Containing Amino Acids Project,” NHU had planned a RMB 3 billion investment adopting ACA thermal cracking technology to produce glufosinate and its formulations. With this new project, the company will establish a full industrial chain for refined glufosinate and related formulations, strengthening its position in the agrochemical sector.
