China and Ukraine Sign Two Protocols on Agricultural Exports to China

China and Ukraine recently signed two protocols in Kyiv, opening the Chinese market to Ukrainian peas and wild aquatic products.
On the same day, Chinese Ambassador to Ukraine Ma Shengkun met with Mykola Koval, Ukraine's Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, in Kyiv. On behalf of China's General Administration of Customs (GACC), Ma Shengkun signed two protocols with Vladyslav Tkachuk, Head of Ukraine's State Service on Food Safety and Consumer Protection:
- The Protocol on Phytosanitary Requirements for Ukrainian Peas Exported to China
- The Protocol on Inspection, Quarantine, and Sanitary Requirements for Ukrainian Wild Aquatic Products Exported to China
Ambassador Ma emphasized the strong complementarity and great potential of China-Ukraine cooperation in the agricultural sector. He stated that China is willing to further enhance collaboration with Ukraine to benefit both nations. The signing of these protocols is expected to expand bilateral agricultural trade and enrich the strategic partnership between China and Ukraine.
Minister Koval highlighted that these agreements will boost agricultural trade between Ukraine and China. He expressed Ukraine's commitment to expediting the export process for these agricultural products and its interest in expanding the range of agricultural goods exported to China.
Both sides also exchanged views on deepening agricultural cooperation and strengthening bilateral engagement in the sector.
