China and Cambodia Sign MoU on Economic Cooperation in Industrial and Supply Chains

On April 17, during Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to Cambodia, Chinese Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao and Cambodian Minister of Commerce Cham Nimul signed and exchanged the Memorandum of Understanding on Strengthening Economic Cooperation in Industrial and Supply Chains between the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Commerce of the Kingdom of Cambodia (hereinafter referred to as the "MoU") in Phnom Penh, witnessed by the leaders of both countries.

The MoU outlines a commitment to leveraging bilateral mechanisms to their full potential, encouraging enterprises from both sides to strengthen cooperation across various sectors through trade, investment, and technological collaboration. It also aims to further amplify the demonstration effect of economic and trade cooperation zones such as the Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone.

In recent years, economic and trade cooperation between China and Cambodia has deepened significantly, with industrial and supply chains of both nations becoming increasingly integrated. The signing of the MoU is expected to help build a smooth, stable, and resilient industrial and supply chain partnership between the two countries, while further enhancing trade and investment cooperation.
