Main Industrial Sectors of Pakistan
1. Textile Industry
Pakistan is the eighth largest textile exporter in Asia, the fourth largest cotton producer, and the third largest cotton consumer in the world. The textile industry is the most important sector in Pakistan's manufacturing industry, providing 47% of employment opportunities. There are 1,328 textile companies in Pakistan, with 58% concentrated in Punjab Province and 34% in Sindh Province. In the 2021-22 fiscal year, Pakistan's textile exports amounted to USD 19.3 billion, accounting for 60.82% of the country's total exports.
2. Leather Industry
Pakistan has more than 800 leather manufacturing companies, including over 80 large-scale enterprises such as Hafeez Shafi Tannery Co., Ltd. In the 2021-22 fiscal year, Pakistan's leather exports amounted to USD 621 million, accounting for about 2% of the country's total exports.
3. Cement Industry
Pakistan is home to 30 large cement enterprises, including Bestway Cement, Lucky Cement Ltd, and Fauji Cement Company Ltd. In the 2021-22 fiscal year, Pakistan's total cement production was 48 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 3.59%, with an export value of about USD 20 million, a year-on-year increase of 5.26%.

The top ten import sources were China, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, the United States, Qatar, Kuwait, Japan, South Africa, and Thailand.
